Dubai Harbour is set to come alive this evening at 5:30 PM, Friday, with the highly anticipated launch of the 2025 Aquabike Night Show. Organized annually by the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) as part of its marine sports season calendar, this thrilling event coincides with the 31st edition of the Dubai International Boat Show.
Elite athletes will compete for the top positions in two exciting categories: Freestyle and Hydrofly, spectators can expect an electrifying display of highly skilled, gravity-defying stunts, which require professional expertise and rigorous training.
All eyes will be on world champion Rashed Al Mulla, the standout star of the Abu Dhabi Team , following his global triumph in 2024, where he claimed first place in the Freestyle category at the World Championship, held across Italy and Indonesia. Meanwhile, an intense rivalry is expected between Manea and Majid Al Marzouqi, as they battle for supremacy in the Hydrofly category.

Exciting Start to the UAE Fishing Championship (Kingfish & Cobia)
On another front, the first day of the Dubai Kingfish & Cobia Fishing Championship, organized by DIMC, kicked off with high energy, featuring over 100 participants. The event began on an exciting note, with three competitors successfully catching prized fish, which were showcased in the outdoor display area of the 31st Dubai International Boat Show.
The championship drew significant attention from fishing enthusiasts and sports lovers, with notable figures such as Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, and Khalfan Hareb, the first Arab champion in powerboat racing history, visiting the display area. Both praised the participants' performances and the well-organized event, which continues to grow in popularity.
Record-Breaking Catches
- Ali Abdullah Laghar (Competitor #87) currently leads the Cobia category, after catching a 30.05 kg fish.
- Abdullah Ahmed Al Marri (Competitor #58) tops the Kingfish category with an 18.05 kg catch, surpassing Egyptian competitor Tariq Abdul Rashid Ramadan (Competitor #7), who secured a 15 kg catch.
Now in its sixth consecutive season, this prestigious fishing championship is a key initiative under DIMC's strategy to expand community engagement in marine sports. With 2025 designated as the Year of Community, the competition enjoys strong support from fishing enthusiasts and is recognized as one of the rounds in the 2025 UAE Fishing Championship, overseen by the UAE Marine Sports Federation.
Participants are competing for a total prize pool of AED 175,000, in addition to valuable prizes from event sponsors: Sayaf Marine, Al Yazi Marine, Da Hunter, Advance Media, Bob Marlin, and Elite Fishing, which will provide live result updates via its official fishing app.
