Dubai Water Canal will witness the second round of the Dubai Traditional Rowing Race (30ft) on Saturday, which is organized by Dubai International Marine Club under the current sports season 2022-2023.
The race is held in conjunction with the third session of the campaign (World Coolest Winter) at the area of Al Jaddaf near the Wildlife Sanctuary and Al Jaddaf Walk which is a famous tourist destination. The participating boat will be divided into two halves wherein they will sail towards the finish line for a distance of 2.7 KM.
The upcoming race on Saturday is important for the boat owners, captains, and sailors as it represents the final stage or qualifying rounds for the top 20 boats to compete in the 26th edition of the Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing Race (30ft).
Last October, the club successfully organized the first round of the Dubai Traditional Rowing Race with two categories, the local and open which brings together boats from GCC and the Institutional Team.
Mohammed Al Marri, the acting Director of Sports Affair at Dubai International Marine Club confirmed that the organizing committee has begun the preparations to organize the upcoming race in coordination with the Government Department and National Institution to make this event a successful one.
Al Marri explained that the registration to participate in the race began and will continue until this Friday. The race meeting among participants is scheduled on Thursday wherein the committee will answer all the queries and explain all the procedures regarding the race on Saturday.
