The Kite Beach in Dubai witness last Friday a unique watersports gathering participated by 170 athletes of all ages participated in Stand Up Paddling & Rowing (Dubai Watersports Week) which is held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Chairman of Dubai Sports Council. The activity is held under the supervision of Dubai Sports Council and organized by Dubai International Marine Club.
The event was held in the beach with a huge presence of the audience who enjoyed the activities that marks the back to normal life and the resumption of the watersports activities in which officially launch thru the club. The race was attended by Saeed Hareb , the Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, who stood on boat to mark the start of the race and to be with the organizing committee led by Mohammed Hareb , DIMC CEO and Hazeem Al Gemzi , the Director of Sprts Department at DIMC.
It is a festive sporting event that gathered a wide spectrum of audience and participants from UAE heroes to sports enthusiast among them is the UAE Team Captain for Kitesurf, Mohammed Obaid Al Mansoori who took the third place in Stand Up Paddling (Local), followed by Ahmed bin Dalmouk who took the second place and the first spot taken by the President of the Emirates Airsports Federation , H.E Naser Al Neyadi which express his thanks and gratitude to our country’s leader that contribute a lot to the welfare and well-being of his countrymen. He also praises the efforts of the first line in defense (frontliners) in spreading awareness and keeping the safety of everyone.
He also thanked the Dubai Sports Council and the Dubai International Marine Club for organizing a wonderful event while taking into account implementation of the precautionary measure all throughout the activities such as the social distancing, use of mask and hand sanitizers and also the sterilization of the equipment in ensuring everyone’s safety.
Furthermore the result of the race in Women Category the first place is won by Manal Rostom while in the men category is the Italian guy Massimo de Stella and for the Kids category is Frederico.
Right after the event was the awarding ceremony led by the presence of Mohammed Hareb - DIMC CEO with Lt. Col. Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi - Head of the Maritime Rescue Section in Dubai Police, Hazeem Al Gemzi - the Director of Sports Department, and Amer Dundashli, the race supervisor to present the commemorative medal to all the winners with the photo of the front liners.
