View Results20 boats to compete in the most expensive Traditional Rowing Race - 30ft , the Al Maktoum Cup on its 24th edition which is organized by Dubai International Marine Club on Friday under the marine sports season 2020-2021.
The Dubai International Marine club announced the names of the boats participating in the grand race earlier as the result of the first and second rounds of the Dubai Traditional Rowing -30ft Championship which qualify the top boats on the most expensive race on Friday.
The overall ranking was topped by the boat no. 44 Oman for third consecutive now which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture , Youth and Sports in Sultanate of Oman led by Humaid Bin Salim Bin Humaid Al Bahri after winning the first place in first and second round with the total points of 2.
The second place in the Overall Ranking for the Dubai Traditional Rowing Championship 2020-2021 goes to boat no. 39 Asas owned by Khalifa Rashid bin Shaheen and led by Badar Abdulhakim Mohamed Thani Bin Thani who was among the top competitor and ranked second place in the first and second rounds that give him a total of 4 points.
And to ranked third in the overall is the Bahraini boat no. 53 Victorious owned by Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and led by Abdulla Khalid Al Haddi who also collected a total of 4 points by winning the first place in the first round and took the third place the last round.
The Alsaroukh Team boat no. 7 owned by Ebrahim Sultan Al Marzouqi and led by Abdulla Al Hosani took the fourth place in the overall standing after collecting a total points of 7 while the boat no. 87 Al Nokhba led by its owner Othman Khalil Al Masoori ranked 5th in the overall with 7 points . On the sixth place in the overall is the boat no. 54 KHK from Bahrain owned by Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and led by Ahmed Bin Nasser Al Busmit.

The organizing committee of the Dubai International Marine Club decided to hold the Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing - 30ft on Friday in Jumeirah shores.
The most expensive championship on Rowing category the Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing - 30ft this Friday on its 24th edition wherein through its establishment in 1998 has embodied a wonderful race for the rowing fans as it represent the strongest tournament that brings together elite boats in the largest prize in term of financial in the said category , it also represent the final round of this category in the sports season 2020-2021.
The organizing committee of the Dubai International Marine Club has completed all the preparations for the grand race and coordinated with all partners from various government departments and national institutions for the success of the race, and among them are the General Command of Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai and Dubai Media Corporation (Dubai Sports Channels) And Abu Dhabi Media Corporation.
Hazeem Al Gemzi, the Director of the Sports Department at the Dubai International Marine Club, confirmed that choosing the location in the Jumeirah beach which is known for such races long ago comes within the implementation of the directives of the DIMC Board of Director and the plan of the Sports Committee to highlight distinct location in the emirates of Dubai in the stunning beaches of Jumeirah.
The new location for the race provide a good place for public and visitor of the Jumeirah beaches to witness the race with a distance of 2.5 miles that will pass along the Jumeirah shore behind Sunset Mall thru Nessnass Beach and the finish line in P&O Marina.
The Director of the Sports Department added that the Organizing Committee informed the owners and captains of all participating boats for the steps of participation and registration, and the race timetable that will start with Technical Inspection , Verification of Participation ID and distribution of wristband. Prior to the race at 15:00 HRS the committee will held a briefing and a draw for the starting line position.

Jumeirah Beach will witness today the most expensive Traditional Rowing Race – 30ft, the 24th edition of the Al Maktoum Cup at three o’clock in the afternoon. The big event is organized by Dubai International Marine Club under the marine sports season 2020-2021 with the participation of top 20 elite boats after being qualified as per the result of the first and second round of the Dubai Traditional Rowing Race Championship.
The committee has completed all the preparation needed for the success of today’s race in coordination with the government departments and national institution in ensuring the safety of every participant in the event.
During the racer’s meeting held online yesterday (Thursday) the organizers answers all their queries and briefed the participants on the race instructions and their participation in accordance with the new amendments on board of the boat and the number of individual participating. The committee also reminds them to follow the precautionary measures apply for the event to limit the spread of (Covid 19).
Mohammed Hareb, the CEO of DIMC confirmed that the Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing Race was launched in 1998 which represent the legacy of the marine sport enthusiast and an important station for each season as it represent the strongest challenge for the top elite boats that was able to qualify for the championship.
He said the championship was more distinguished as it was attended by the GCC countries even in the previous years in which the Dubai Traditional Rowing Race Championship gather together the UAE national and residence with the neighboring country from the Kingdom of Bahrain and Sultanate of Oman that adds more thrill and excitement in competition. He wishes the success of today's championship even though with the current circumstances.

Leading in the overall standing in the Dubai Traditional Rowing Race Championship -30ft was the Oman 44 that led them to be qualified in the Al Maktoum Cup and today they look forwards in repeating their achievement the last season by winning the big title for the second time in a row.

Dubai Media Incorporated, represented by the Dubai Sports TV Channel, has completed all its preparations to broadcast the race today live from its location in the stunning beaches of Jumeirah at three in the afternoon as part of its continuing interest in the races and sporting events hosted by the Emirate of Dubai.
The organizing committee of the Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing Boats decided to postpone the event from Friday to Saturday due to bad weather and sea conditions.
The race was scheduled to take place on the beaches of Jumeirah yesterday afternoon, as the state of the sea changed when the twenty participating boats arrived at the starting line they where not able to line up which pushed the organizing committee to raise the red flag and returned the participants to the port.
The race will take place today - Saturday - at 3 pm on the water of the Dubai Canal in the Al Jaddaf area adjacent to the Dubai Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, which is the place that hosted the first and second rounds of the 2020-2021 Dubai Traditional Rowing Championship.

The big race was organized by the Dubai International Marine Club yesterday afternoon - Saturday - in the Dubai Water Canal opposite of the Dubai Wildlife Sanctuary near Al Jaddaf which achieved a great success with the participation of 20 boats with up to 180 people on board, which participated in a stunning and unique race witnessed by the audience. The race is remarkable with the presence of the people from Kingdom of Bahrain and Sultanate of Oman.
The race was scheduled to take place last Friday afternoon in Jumeirah beaches but was postponed due to the bad weather conditions and the committee decided to move it the next day in the Dubai Water Canal wherein the participants competed in one round and hailed as a winner is the boat no. 54 KHK while the second place was taken by Oman 44 owned by the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports led by Humaid Bin Salim bin Humaid Al Bahri and the third spot goes to boat no. 65 Al Zahab 2 owned by Ahmed Ebrahim Al Shamsi and led by skipper Jumaa Yousif Al Jenaibi.
The 24th edition of the most expensive traditional rowing -30ft race hailed its new champion from the Kingdom of Bahrain that made its history by winning the title for the first time since its establishment at 1998 that attracts participation among GCC countries.
The Bahraini boat KHK 54, took the lead early after the race launched in the starting line maintaining its strong performance and good preparation for the race that lead them first to the finish line against its closest rival the Oman 44 and the Al Zahab 2 (65) as they crossed a race distance of 2.5 KM.
The rest of the winners are the Bahraini Boat, Victorious 53 owned by Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and led by Abdullah Al-Hadi in the fourth place, and fifth place went to the crew of the boat Dubai/1 51 owned by Ahmed Mohd. Ebrahim Al-Mar'ei and the sixth place goes to the boat Al Zahab 66 Ahmed Ebrahim Al Shamsi and led by Ibrahim Sultan Al Marzouqi.
The boat no. 87 " WAWAN Team" owned & skippered by Oathman Khalil Abdulla Al Mansouri followed by boat no. 55 Gulfar 1 led by Badar Nasser Ahmed Naser Al Shashi then the boat no. 3 Dubai Police GHQ led by Mohammed Issa Al Mansoori for the ninth place and on the tenth place the boat no. 77 Fujairah Police GHQ Skippered by Yousef Bin Ibad Al Shahi.
Awarding Ceremony
Immediately after the race the awarding ceremony took place for the winners of the 24th Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing Race - 30ft with joy and happiness for the first top three places to received the awards led by the presence of Mohammed Hareb , DIMC CEO accompanied by Lt. Col. Ali Abdullah Al-Naqbi, Head of the Maritime Rescue Department at the Ports Police Station And Hazeem Al Gemzi , the Race Director.

Mohammed Hareb, CEO of the Dubai International Marine Club, congratulated the first three winners of the 24th Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing Race - 30ft and all the participants. He said that everyone that join the event was a winner for making it a great one.
He praised the great efforts of the club's strategic partners, who cooperated with the club in any circumstances that the event went thru after the postponement for one day due to the weather forecast and for the safety of all the participants.
The Dubai International Marine Club congratulated Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee as the boat no. 54 KHK is crowned as champion of the 24th edition of the Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing- 30ft under the marine sports season 2020 -2021.
Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar, Chairman of the Dubai International Marine Club, congratulated the brothers from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the crew of the boat KHK 54 led by Ahmed Nasser Al Busumit for winning the first place in the race and by motivating everyone to preserve the popular heritage sports in the Gulf region.
