Dubai International Marine Club announced the program of activities for the Dubai Watersports Summer Week which is organized by the club in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Sports Council and the President of DIMC in the response to the decision of the national authorities in the emirate to resume the sports activities in the emirates of Dubai.
The Dubai Sports Council has announced the return of the sports activities and competition this month in the implementations of the council's plan and in line with the Government's plan to gradually open all sectors of life in the Emirate, and complies with instructions issued by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, and related government agencies. The Council has prepared a detailed list of protocols in collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure the safety of everyone involved in these competitions, and the order of resumption will be limited to events that conform to these safety protocols and guidelines, and obtain prior approval from Dubai Sports Council.
The event will be next week in three consecutive days (Thursday-Saturday) 25th - 27th of June with the exciting marines activities that will attract the marine watersports enthusiast as well as the public to witness the event in the stunning Dubai beaches.
The activities will start next Thursday in Al Shurooq Beach in Jumeirah wherein we will witness in the evening the Motosurf Competition for the first time in the Dubai waters and followed by the Hydrofly (Flyboard) competition as they fly up high in the sky with amazing stunt that is open for all the participants (Beginner or Pro)
In the next day, Friday will be an exciting full day activities to start with the Kayak Fishing for the first time also in Dubai and its open to all which will be held around the Dubai Waters. At the same day in Kite Beach in early morning will be the Stand Up Paddling race which is organized by the club for the first time also in cooperation & partnership with the various institution. And in the afternoon the Kitesurf activities in Nessnass Beach which is open to all (gender & level).
And on the third day, 27th of June the Modern Sailing competition for Laser 4.7 and Optimist in cooperation with DOSC . And right after the activities will be the awarding ceremony of the Dubai Watersports Summer Week.
The Dubai Sports Council has decided to honour heroes who were at the frontline of Dubai’s fight against COVID-19 by issuing commemorative medals that celebrates their efforts to contain the pandemic.
The medals, which will be given to the winners of upcoming sports events in Dubai, pays homage to the selfless service of Dubai Police and Dubai Civil Defence through the COVID-19 crisis, alongside the staff of Dubai Health Authority, and the First Responders of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services. Together, they were at the forefront of Dubai’s fight to contain the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, alongside volunteers from different segments of Dubai’s diverse community.
The new medals are a continuation of Dubai Sports Council’s initiative to celebrate not just Dubai's iconic landmarks, but her heroes as well and immortalise their story. In the past, DSC's medals have featured some of the most famous cultural and tourist landmarks of Dubai like the majestic Dubai Frame and Burj Khalifa, the magnificent Museum of the Future and the stunning Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, alongside Hamdan Sports Complex, Tolerance Bridge and the Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve.
The first of the new medals will be distributed at marine sports competitions that will be taking place this weekend.
Sports competitions restarted in the Emirate of Dubai last Friday with the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club’s Summer Series, which featured paddle boats, dinghy boats and yachts. This weekend, Dubai International Marine Club, in cooperation with Dubai Sports Council, has organised a “Dubai Watersports Summer Week” that will see different competitions take place at various venues from June 25-27.
The event will open with a Motosurf competition on Thursday evening. This is the first Motosurf competition taking place in Dubai and the event will be followed by Hydrofly (Flyboard) competition, which will see participants perform amazing stunts in the air, as they float above the water.
On Friday, fans of marine sports will witness a full day of competition at different venues. Two of the three events planned for the day – Kayak Fishing and Stand Up paddling – will be taking place for the first time in Dubai. Kayak Fishing, which is open to all, will be taking place at various venues around the city, while the Stand Up Paddling race, which is being organised in cooperation with different institutions, will take place at Kite Beach. The third event of the day, Kitesurf, will take place at Nessnass Beach.
On June 27, there will be a Modern Sailing competition for Laser 4.7 and Optimist, which is being organised in cooperation with Dubai Offshore Sailing Club.
The decision to resume marine sports competitions is part of a series of decisions taken by Dubai Sports Council in recent days to gradually reopen the sports sector following weeks of closure due to COVID-19. The decision is in line with the Government of Dubai’s plan to open all sectors of life in the Emirate, and complies with instructions issued by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, and related government agencies.

The registration process for the event will be thru the club official website (www.dimc.ae) wherein they can fill up the online form for the selected race and then the club will notify them to confirm their participation.
It is expected to be a fun filled weekend in Dubai Beaches with the participation of the various sectors of society and watersports enthusiast in line with the Government's plan to gradually open all sectors of life in the Emirate, and complies with instructions issued by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, and related government agencies. In line with the implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, in the response to the decision of the national authorities in the emirate of Dubai to resume the sports activities. Today, we will witness in Al Sharooq Beach –Jumeirah, the launching of the Dubai Watersports Summer Week organized by Dubai International Marine Club in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council that will run from Thursday – Saturday.
The Dubai Sports Council has announced earlier the return of the sports activities and competition this month in the implementations of the council's plan and in line with the Government's plan to gradually open all sectors of life in the Emirate, and complies with instructions issued by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, and related government agencies. The Council has prepared a detailed list of safety protocols and guidelines in collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure the safety of everyone involved in these competitions.
Dubai Watersports Summer Week officially begin today with two activities on board the Moto Surf Competition that will happen for the first time in Dubai and the Flyboard (Hydrofly) that was initially launch in the competition in Dubai last January 2016.
Ahmed Saeed bin Meshar, Chairman of DIMC, thanked the His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai for the wise visions and directives to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Emirate’s Executive Council, on the follow-up and dedication that have had a great impact in overcoming the effects of the emerging Corona Virus pandemic, that cast a shadow all over the world.
The Chairman of the Dubai International Marine Sports Club also praised the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, for the return of sporting activities and events in line with the government’s directions in the emirate, as this week will be the actual beginning through competition in various events in water sports.

Dubai Watersports Summer Week marked a successful start with massive participation during its opening last Thursday, the event was held under implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council. The event is under the supervision of the Dubai Sports Council and the organization of the club Dubai International Marine Club.
Today is the closing day of the Dubai Watersports Summer Week with the Modern Sailing (Laser 4.7 and Optimist) activities in cooperation with Dubai Offshore Sailing Club at the beach next to DOSC.
In the opening day of Dubai Watersports Summer Week that was last Thursday which catch the attention of the media and officials attended by Saeed Hareb the Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council , Rashid Thani Al Aail -DIMC Board Member, Mohammed Hareb - DIMC CEO, Lt. Col., Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi - Head of Maritime Rescue Division at Dubai Police and Hazeem Al Gemzi - Director of Sports Department at DIMC.
The exciting activities was held in Al Shurooq Beach with the Motosurf and Flyboard Competition wherein we see a participation of the professional and beginners in the said sports. We also witness the crowd as they enjoy the back to the water sports activities but taking into accounts the safety measures in ensuring the people to wear mask and the use sanitizer and disinfectant in the event.
Everyone enjoy and participated the said event in Al Shurooq Beach showcasing a spectacular view of the emirates waterfront. The competition was participated by local heroes of the sports and resident of the UAE from different country such as from Czech Republic, Jordan, Egypt and Nigeria.
The festivity signifies the return of the watersports in the emirate of Dubai enhanced by the presence of the Dubai Police in ensuring the safety of the participants and the viewers. They also display a set of luxury cars that amazed the crowd.
The participants express their great joy in the event as they receive the awards that is dedicated for the frontlines in the awarding ceremony. Achieving the first place for Hydrofly competition is Manea Habeeb Al Marzooqi from Sharjah Team , second place is Ali Binthalith and the thir place goes to Mohammed Ishaq Misk.
For the Motosurf competition that was held for the first time in Dubai crowned as a winner is Abdullah Maarich against Mohammed Ishaq Misk taking the second place and the third position by Yousef bin Lami. Special awards for the only lady participants goes to Anna.
