Dubai International Marine Club announces the opening of registration for the Dubai round of the 2025 UAE International Aquabike Championship, which will be held on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 January 2025
Dubai International Marine Club is gearing up to host the highly anticipated UAE International Aquabike Race - Dubai, marking the first round of the 2025 Championship. This exciting event will kick off the club’s activities for the new year, taking place on the waters of Al Shorooq Beach in Jumeirah on Friday and Saturday, January 10-11, 2025.
This event serves as the opening of the 2025 international racing calendar under the supervision of the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM). It is organized in collaboration with the UAE Marine Sports Federation. The race will feature top competitors from across the globe and the region, promising an intense and thrilling start to the championship season.
10 Categories
Participants will compete in 10 categories, including four in the Runabout division: GP1, GP2, GP3, and GP4 (Spark). The Ski Division features six categories: GP1, GP2, Veterans GP2 (2-Stroke), and Ski Junior GP3 (3.3, 3.2, 3.1 - Slalom).
Event Schedule
The action begins on Thursday, January 9, with registration confirmation and technical inspections for all competitors. Friday morning kicks off with free practice from 08:00 to 09:00, setting the stage for official competitions, which start in the afternoon at 2:00 PM, featuring: Runabout GP3, Veterans GP2 (2-Stroke), Runabout GP4 (Spark) and Ski GP4 (4-Stroke). The grand finale on Saturday, January 11, will showcase electrifying races for professionals and amateurs in both morning and afternoon sessions.
A Festival of Marine Sports
This year’s race returns with a revamped format, transforming the event into a two-day marine sports festival.
Mohammed Al Marri, Director of Sports Affairs at the Dubai International Marine Club, expressed his excitement about hosting this international event at the picturesque Al Shorooq Beach.
“We are delighted to welcome elite champions from around the world to the UAE International Aquabike Race - Dubai. This year, the event takes on a vibrant new format, creating a festival atmosphere that combines competitive spirit with stunning coastal views,” said Al Marri.

The Organizing Committee of the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) continues its preparations to organize and host the first round of the UAE Int’l Aquabike Championship – Dubai, taking place this Friday and Saturday at Sunrise Beach (Al Shorooq Beach) in Jumeirah.
This event marks the opening of the 2025 International Racing Calendar under the supervision of the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) and is organized in collaboration with the UAE Marine Sports Federation (UAEMSF). The race will feature top competitors from around the globe and the region, promising an intense and thrilling start to the championship season.
The organizing committee has received numerous participation requests for the big race, which will bring together a group of distinguished and rising champions in this sport. In addition to the UAE's prominent racers, stars from the GCC region—including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar—will compete alongside racers from Hungary, Britain, and France.
Participants will compete in 10 categories, including four in the Runabout division: GP1, GP2, GP3, and GP4 (Spark). The Ski Division features six categories: GP1, GP2, Veterans GP2 (2-Stroke), and Ski Junior GP3 (3.3, 3.2, 3.1 - Slalom).
The organizing committee has announced the race schedule, which begins tomorrow, Wednesday, with an informative meeting between the organizing committee and the participating racers to address questions and inquiries related to the racecourse. The meeting will be attended by Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department at DIMC, and Khaled Mohsen, the race supervisor.
All necessary procedures will be finalized on Thursday, including the announcement of the entry list and the technical inspection of all participating aquabikes, which will be conducted by the technical committee.
The roar of aquabike engines will echo across Sunrise Beach on Friday morning during the official practice for all categories. The competition officially begins in the afternoon with the first round of four categories. On Saturday, the event will culminate in intense competition across all ten categories.

The sounds of jet ski engines roared early today, Friday, at Sunrise Beach, the event site adorned in vibrant colors, welcoming competitors and audience. The morning was dedicated to official practice sessions for all participating categories, allowing competitors to test their readiness before entering the official stages, which are set to begin in the evening.
The official competition will commence at 2 PM today with the first round of four categories: Runabout GP3, Veterans GP2, Runabout GP4, and Ski GP4. Competitions in these categories will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, with the second round.
The excitement is on for the remaining stages tomorrow where Participants will showcase their skills during the morning and afternoon sessions across 10 categories, in a promising intense competition.
The registration process for the race witnessed significant turnout, closing yesterday, Thursday, with approximately 70 competitors confirmed. These include UAE champions, competitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar, as well as participants from the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, and Hungary.
Mohammed Abdullah Hareb Al Falahi, Board Member and Executive Director of the Dubai International Marine Club, welcomed the participants to this major international event, which gathers the most skilled aquabike racers.
Harib stated: "We are delighted at the Dubai International Marine Club to begin the new year, 2025, with a prestigious event like this, which marks the opening round of the UAE International Championship. We have worked to make this a unique festival by enhancing competition opportunities and extending the races over two days, ensuring both the audience and racers can enjoy the experience."
He added that DIMC events always bring something new, and this time, it is the introduction of an innovative category, Ski GP4 (4-Stroke). This initiative aims to increase participation in the sport and provide opportunities to discover new talent, as the event unites elite professionals and amateurs across various age groups.

The action begins early today, Saturday, with official practice sessions starting at 9:00 AM, followed by the commencement of competitions at 10:00 AM across 10 different categories. These include four divisions in the Runabout class: GP1, GP2, GP3, and GP4 (Spark). The championship's events officially began yesterday morning, Friday, with competitor registration and the arrival of participating teams. The event has attracted up to 60 male and female competitors from various countries, including top athletes from the United Arab Emirates, GCC nations like Kuwait and Qatar, and elite champions from Europe, including representatives from Britain, France, the Netherlands, Russia, and Hungary.
For the first time, a new and innovative category, Ski GP4 (4-Stroke), has been introduced. Notable participants include Abubaker Al Marri, Mohammad Bin Thani, Suhail Rashed Al Tayer, Ali Alali, Saif Rashed Eid Al Shuwihi, Kir Ivanov, and Sultan Majad Al Sharshani.
Rising Talents
The Juniors will showcase emerging talents and rising stars of the future. Among the participants are brothers Ahmed and Hamdan Salem Suhail Rashed Al Tayer, with Hamdan crowned the 2024 champion, competing in the Ski GP3.3 class. Additionally, Mohammed Rashid Al Tayer, Zayed Issa Al Hammadi, and Abdullah Al Awadhi will compete in the Ski GP3.2 category, while Mohammed Harez Al Mar and Hamdan Abdullah Al Hattawi will take part in the Ski GP3.1 class.

Dubai Sports TV Channel will broadcast the final day's events of the UAE Int’l Aquabike Championship during the morning and afternoon sessions. This coverage is under the supervision of Abdulrahman Amin, Director of Dubai Sports TV Channels, Hassan Habib, Director of Dubai Sports TV Channel, and Abdulkhaleq Al Khamis, Operations Manager. Our champions dominated the Dubai Aquabike Race, the opening round of the UAE Int’l Aquabike Championship 2025, organized over two days by the Dubai International Marine Club at Sunrise Beach, Jumeirah.
The major event was a resounding success, marking the start of the watersports activities for 2025. It featured the participation of 70 male and female competitors, including UAE sports ambassadors, racers from Kuwait and Qatar, and top European stars from Britain, France, the Netherlands, Russia, and Hungary. All participants competed for titles across 11 different categories in MOTO 1 and MOTO 2.
Last season's champion, Omar Abdullah Rashid (#76), was crowned champion of the Ski Division GP1 category with 45 points, two points ahead of Ali Al Ali, the rider of jet ski #7 (second place), and three points ahead of third-place winner Sultan Eisa Al Hammadi (#11). Meanwhile, Khalifa Khalid Belsalah (#33) secured second place in the Runabout GP1 category with 42 points, trailing the Hungarian Kasza Gyorgy, who led with a perfect score of 50 points.
The 2024 season champion, Amer Abdulrazzar Mohamed Hawair (#1), succeeded in claiming the lead in the Runabout GP2 category with 47 points, just two points ahead of second-place winner Salman Al Awadhi on jet ski #7. Saoud Mahmoud Al Awadhi (#33) achieved a full score of 50 points in the Ski Division GP2, while Rashid Salem (#55) claimed third place.
The 2024 season champion, Jamal Al Janahi, riding jet ski #43, outperformed his competitors in the Runabout GP3 category, achieving first place with a perfect score of 50 points. He was followed by Saif Rashid Al Shuweihi (#44) in second place with 44 points. In the Veterans GP2 category, the 2024 champion, Huraiz bin Huraiz (#3), took the lead with 47 points, finishing ahead of Rashed Al Tayer (#55).
Rising star Ali Al Ali demonstrated his superiority in the Ski Division GP4 competition, a new category added this year. He achieved full marks, finishing ahead of Saif Rashid Al Shuweihi in second place with 44 points, and Suhail Rashid Al Tayer on jet ski #5 (third place). Meanwhile, Kuwaiti champions dominated the podium in the Runabout GP4 (Spark) category, with Fares Ramadan (#9) taking first place.
Future Champions
The race witnessed the emergence of new stars in the Junior categories. Mohammed bin Huraiz won the title in the Ski Junior GP 3.1 category with 47 points, while Hamdan Abdullah Al Hattawi secured second place, trailing by two points on bike No. 7. In the Ski Junior GP 3.2 category, Abdullah Al Awadhi (#33) achieved a perfect score, and Ahmed Salem, on bike No. 55, claimed second place in the Ski Junior GP 3.3 category with 42 points.
Following the conclusion of the competition, Mohammed Abdullah Harib, Board Member and CEO of the Dubai International Marine Club, accompanied by Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department, and Khaled Mohsen, Race Supervisor, crowned the top three winners in each of the eleven categories and presented them with the Cups of Excellence.
