Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club's team won first place overall in the UAE Rowing Championship (Round 4), which was successfully organized by the Dubai International Marine Club during the current sports season, 2023-2024.
The race took place on the picturesque waters of Dubai Island in Deira, Dubai, and was held in conjunction with the Modern and Olympic Marine Sports Carnival. It achieved great success, represented by a large participation of club & teams from various academies, including Al Hamriyah Club, Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, Abu Dhabi Rowing Club, Dubai Police Rowing Team, and New York University – Abu Dhabi.
Al Hamriyah team dominated the first places in all nine categories with the stars of our national team: the trio Hamad Saeed Al Matroushi, Ahmed Khamis Al Hammadi, and Mubarak Juma Alyasi. The duo Sarra Lajnef and Boshra Ebrahim took first place in the women’s doubles.
They continued their brilliance in the Junior Women’s Singles category as Mira Al Alili took the first place along with her teammates Shooq Badr Ali Al Mansoori and Fajr Saeed Ahmed in second and third place respectively. While in the Junior Women's Doubles, Mira Al Alili and Shamsa Sultan Alsheryani took the first place. Also from Hamriya club, the duo Ima Mohamed Hassan and Haneen Badr Al Hosani secured second positions, while Fatma Mohamed Alfarsi and Safia Ali Mohamed took third place.
In the Junior Men's category, Al Hamriya also dominated with Sultan Ahmed Al Shamsi in first place while Hamad Aamer Al Shamsi and Zayed Saif Alili consecutively took second and third spots. The Al Hamriya duo Hamad Aamer Al Shamsi and Sultan Ahmed Al Shamsi won first place in Junior 18 Men’s Doubles along with the duo Zayed Saif Alili and Fahd Adel Aljasmi in second place, and Rashed Ibrahim Alblooshi and Abdallah Adnan Aljasmi in third place.
While in the Men’s Doubles, the duo Hamad Saeed Al Matrooshi and Ahmed Khamis Al Hammadi won, and in second place is Hamad Amer Al Shamsi and Zayed Alalili.
The Men’s Quadruple witnessed strong competition between the teams, as the men’s team from Al Hamriya, consisting of Hamad Al Matrooshi, Ahmed Khamis, Khamis Al Shamsi, and Mubarak Juma Al Yasi, won first place, and their teammates Dheyab Alawadhi, Humaid Al Matrooshi, Ammar Al Balooshi, and Saeed Jamal Al Shamsi took second place, while the Abu Dhabi team, including Brahim Mraghi, Yahya Al Hammadi, Marwan Khamis, and Abdulaziz Khashoe, took third place.
Mohammed Al Obaidli, Secretary-General of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation (UAESARF), and Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), awarded the winners of the nine categories, including the trophy to the coach of the overall winner Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club.

Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Club, commended the collaboration with the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation. This partnership led to the successful organization of a watersports festival on the waters of the Dubai Islands, where over 100 male and female athletes competed in two races for modern rowing and modern sailing. He emphasized that the significant turnout underscored the importance of Olympic sports and the keen interest of clubs and academies in their development.
